Christian Mission of South India

for I know that through your prayers and God’s provision of the Spirit of Jesus Christ what has happened to me will turn out for my deliverance. I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death.

– Philippians 1:19-20 NIV

Today’s video commentary from Pastor Dave

Written from a jail cell Paul is not sure if he will live or die, but he is confident that Christ will be exalted, no matter what the outcome. We are in a fear filled time. We all face fears that our lives will not amount to much or will be a source of shame, but Paul gives us hope. If Christ can be exalted in a 1st Century prison, then what in a time of lockdown? Take courage, for the expectation and hope from Scripture is that He can use your circumstances for His glory. In life or death, you can be used as a vessel for Christ.

Ministries: Bible Training

Continued Bible training for all Christians is very important, but especially so for those who are going to be evangelists and teach and train others. CMSI holds regular training sessions and makes use of the correspondence course material provided by IBS to reach others with the gospel and train them to maturity.

During one such training session in 2001 for the Yanadi men being trained to become evangelists, each was given the opportunity to quote from the book of James as far as he could go. Most could get through the first chapter and a little beyond, but one Yanadi man was able to quote verbatim the 1st three chapters of James. Their wives also attended the training session and quoted large sections of scriptures (Romans) they had memorized.

Through a generous financial grant in 2006 by The Loftis Foundation, CMSI set up a training center to train twelve (12) Yanadi preachers to plant churches in their villages and also in nearby villages. Upon completion of the training the Lord provided additional funding by The Loftis Foundation to assist in the actual church planting stage of the project. In 2007 a church has been planted in a village of 85 homes by a trainee with CMSI's assistance and support.
